Kristopher's approach and how he works with clients
Psychotherapy is an intimate undertaking and a very personal journey. In my work, I recognize that each person comes with a unique personal history and specific life circumstances as well as individual hopes, dreams, and desires. I believe that most of us, most of the time, can be quite resourceful and creative in coping with life challenges. There are times, however, when internal pressures or external circumstances get the best of us, leaving us depleted, overwhelmed, confused, or unwell. I offer a safe space for the work of self-exploration and transformation to occur, and where the journey toward healing, self-acceptance, and emotional and psychological well-being can take place. My work is informed by several approaches to psychotherapy and I draw from various traditions of understanding the human mind and psychological functioning.
Depending on your specific circumstances and needs, I will work with you toward:
achieving a deeper understanding of what is troubling you;
bringing resolution to mental health challenges, emotional distress, and unresolved traumas;
developing stronger internal resources and better coping strategies;
developing healthier and more satisfying relationships with others;
creating more fulfilling ways of achieving your goals, needs, and desires;
finding ways to give expression to your unique talents and creativity;
guiding you toward the path of alignment with your life goals and purpose.
I currently practice as Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (Lic. # MC61404164) in the State of Washington. As required by WA State law and professional ethics, my practice is at this time supervised by Paul Johnson, MA, LMHC (Lic # LH60823767), who can be reached at 253.242.2020. All psychotherapy / counseling clients must have permanent residence in WA State.
While my counseling and psychotherapy practice in Washington State is new, I bring with me nearly three decades of supervised clinical training and professional psychotherapy experience from California (as well as Poland) where I worked with individual adults (across all age groups), couples, families, and children, representing a wide range of diverse backgrounds and needs.
